It's cold! Let's build a fire in the fireplace!

 Winter is here and it is time for fires in the fireplace! Get mom or dad to help you if you are still learning. 

Early in the morning it is dark and cold in the house. So let's warm it up! Get your materials ready: paper or fat lighter, kindling, logs, matches, ash shovel, ash bucket. First light is enough to see and we do not turn on the lights. So things are dark at first. Clean out the fireplace, start with paper at the bottom, then kindling, then bigger pieces and logs. Light the paper with a match. And watch the fire take hold, bringing light and warmth to your home! Keep it going by adding wood as it burns down. Now get to your chores!
